CONSTITUTION OF ELECTION COMMISSION

The Government of Tamil Nadu under Section 33A of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Act 1983 constituted a separate commission known as Tamil Nadu State Co-operative Societies Election Commission. The Commissioner for the Tamil Nadu State Co-operative Societies Election Commission (TNSCSEC) would be appointed by the State Government and the person would be an officer of the government not below the rank of Secretary to the Government. The Commissioner of the Tamil Nadu State Co-operative Societies Election Commission shall hold office for five years from the date on which he enters upon his office and he shall retire from the office if he completes the age of 65 years.
